Hand Bottled, Labeled and Numbered
To create 600L, winemaker Justin Seidenfeld was inspired by microvinification, the process of finding exceptional spots in a vineyard down to a single row to grow grapes. Seidenfeld used this technique to craft a wine that is an expression of only the most pristine grapes in hand-selected blocks of our Cooley Ranch vineyard.
Named for the fermentation vessel, a custom-made 600L barrel of which there are only 6 made in the world, 600L demonstrates Seidenfeld's passion for exceptional wine making. Seidenfeld hand crafted all aspects of 600L from farming the land alongside viticulturalist Ryan Decker to barrel down and punch downs.
Early winter showers were followed by a warm, dry beginning to the new growing season, setting the stage for an early bud break. Alternating overcast days and heat waves continued through spring and summer, with a particularly hot period in late June, and an unseasonal rain in July. Harvest officially started September 21st under ideal conditions
